India Bag Air Pistol Gold, Rifle Silver at Asian Games

India picked up two shooting medals on a single day at the Asian Games 2026, taking gold in the 10m air pistol mixed team event and silver in the men’s 50m rifle 3 positions team event.
Suruchi Inder Singh and Kamaljeet combined for an Asian record score of 484.6 in the air pistol mixed team final. It was India’s first shooting gold of the edition and the country’s second gold overall at the Games.
In the rifle event, Aishwary Pratap Singh Tomar, Rudrankksh Balasaheb Patil and Niraj Kumar scored 1762-94x to finish second. China took gold with 1766-95x, while South Korea claimed bronze.
India finished its shooting campaign with 15 medals: three gold, eight silver and four bronze. It was below the record 22-medal haul from Hangzhou, but shooting remained India’s second-highest medal-producing sport behind athletics.
Trap shooter Neeru Dhanda was named India’s flag-bearer for the closing ceremony after winning two golds and a silver. India reached a total of 76 medals at the Games by October 2.
