BJP questions Rahul Gandhi’s silence on Captain Smit’s bravery

The BJP has questioned Congress leader Rahul Gandhi over his silence on Captain Smit Machchhar’s bravery. The FlyDubai pilot fought off a cockpit attack to save the aircraft.
BJP spokesperson Sambit Patra hinted that appeasement could be behind the silence. Party leader Pradeep Bhandari said tributes were pouring in while Gandhi stayed silent.
Gaurav Bhatia asked why Gandhi, the Leader of Opposition, had not posted a word when the whole country felt proud of the captain.
Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge did salute the pilot. He praised the extraordinary courage of Captain Machchhar and the crew.
Captain Machchhar was stabbed in the cockpit of FlyDubai flight FZ1073 on September 30. Despite severe injuries, he opened the cockpit door so passengers and crew could overpower the attacker. The plane landed safely in Tabuk, Saudi Arabia.
Captain Machchhar is in a stable condition in a Saudi hospital after the September 30 attack. PM Modi spoke to him on a video call on Friday. The BJP said leaders across the world had praised the pilot while Gandhi stayed silent.
