Seoul, Oct 3 — Samsung is expanding its Android 17-based One UI 9 update to more Galaxy S26 users in the United States.

The rollout began on September 16, starting with the S26 family and the Fold and Flip lines, initially in South Korea. In the US, it first reached T-Mobile devices, then unlocked phones in the beta program.

One UI 9 adds Galaxy AI features. My FanCam follows a selected person in a recorded video and keeps them centered. Now Nudge surfaces contextual suggestions in notifications, such as saving addresses to Google Maps.

Interpreter gains a conversation view for scrolling back through translations. Privacy Alerts use on-device AI to flag apps accessing personal data unnecessarily.

Samsung Health gets redesigned charts and cardio load tracking. Bixby can now activate when the phone is raised to the mouth. The update also brings a redesigned lock screen clock and improvements to Samsung DeX. The update debuted on the Galaxy Z Fold 8 series first. Samsung says feature availability may vary by country, language and device model.
