Commercial LPG cylinder price up by Rs 62.50

Oil marketing companies have increased the price of the 19-kg commercial LPG cylinder by Rs 62.50 with effect from October 1. The hike applies across major cities and is part of the monthly price revision cycle.
The price of the 14.2-kg domestic cooking gas cylinder remains unchanged. The government has kept household LPG rates steady, shielding families from the latest revision.
Commercial cylinders are used by hotels, restaurants, dhabas and small food businesses. For them, the increase adds to operating costs at a time when many are already dealing with high rents and staff expenses.
LPG prices for commercial users are revised on the first of every month, based on international fuel prices and currency movements. The October revision is the latest in a series of ups and downs this year. Industry watchers say the next revision will depend on global energy trends in the coming weeks. Dealers said the revision was communicated overnight, and the new rates were displayed at agency offices from Wednesday morning.
