Simple Energy Raises ₹1,750 Crore Series C, India’s EV Mega-Round

Bengaluru-based electric two-wheeler maker Simple Energy has raised Rs 1,750 crore (about $180 million) in an all-equity Series C round — one of the largest EV fundraisings in India this year.
The round was led by the Dr. Arokiaswamy Velumani Family Office, with participation from founder and CEO Suhas Rajkumar, co-founder and CFO Ankit Gupta, Bengaluru investor Amit Mishra and the Haran Family Office.
It is the company's largest round to date and the third-largest ever in India's electric two-wheeler sector. Total capital raised now exceeds Rs 2,530 crore.
The funds will go toward a new manufacturing facility, higher production, an expanded retail and service network, hiring and R&D for future products.
Simple Energy says its monthly sales have grown more than four times over the past year. It has a stated production capacity of 10,000 units a month and over 80 outlets across 60-plus cities.
"This is a defining moment for Simple Energy," Rajkumar said, adding that the goal is to become one of India's leading full-stack electric two-wheeler companies.
The round signals strong investor appetite for scaled EV makers even as the two-wheeler market stays competitive.
