Rajinikanth’s Jailer 2 Confirmed for IMAX Release With New Poster
The makers of Rajinikanth’s Jailer 2 have confirmed that the film will release in IMAX worldwide, unveiling a striking new poster on October 1.
The poster carries the tagline “Experience It In IMAX Worldwide” and shows Rajinikanth walking away from a massive explosion. The film releases in theatres on October 15, 2026.
Jailer 2 is written and directed by Nelson Dilipkumar, who returns after the 2023 original became one of Rajinikanth’s biggest blockbusters. The sequel follows Muthuvel Pandian, one of the superstar’s most popular recent characters.
The film has cinematography by Vijay Kartik Kannan and music by Anirudh Ravichander. Ramya Krishnan, Mohanlal, Shivarajkumar, Mirnaa Menon and Yogi Babu reprise their roles from the first film.
New additions include Vidya Balan, SJ Suryah, Suraj Venjaramoodu and Meghana Raj Sarja. The film is produced by Sun Pictures.
The IMAX announcement adds to the film’s positioning as one of the biggest Tamil releases of the year, arriving during the Dussehra holiday season.
