Rekha Gupta Hails India’s Asian Games Silver in 50m Rifle 3P

Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta on Thursday congratulated India’s shooting trio for winning the silver medal in the men’s 50m rifle 3 positions team event at the Asian Games.
Aishwary Pratap Singh Tomar, Niraj Kumar and Rudrankksh Patil combined for a total of 1762-94x to finish second, just four points behind gold medallists China on 1766-95x. South Korea took bronze with 1751-87x at the Aichi-Nagoya Games on September 25.
Gupta praised the shooters’ superb shooting, steady nerves and great teamwork on X, writing, “Keep aiming higher and making Bharat proud.”
The 50m rifle 3 positions is among shooting’s most demanding events, testing athletes from kneeling, prone and standing positions over an extended competition.
Tomar and Niraj qualified for the individual final, finishing third and fourth in qualification with 589-34x and 588-34x respectively. Patil’s 585-26x was not enough for the final under the two-per-country rule.
The silver continued India’s strong shooting tradition at the Asian Games, though the team surrendered the title it won at the 2022 edition to China.
