Kautilya Economic Conclave to begin in Delhi on October 3

The fifth Kautilya Economic Conclave (KEC 2026) will be held in New Delhi from October 3 to 5 under the theme "Resilience in an Age of Flux", the Finance Ministry announced on October 1.

The three-day gathering will bring together more than 180 policymakers, economists, academics and financial experts, including over 80 international participants from around 30 countries. Vice President C. P. Radhakrishnan will deliver the inaugural address.

Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman will address a special plenary on India's economic priorities, while External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar will deliver the concluding address. RBI Governor Sanjay Malhotra will speak on "Central Banking in an Age of Flux", and Communications Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia will keynote a session on the digital economy.

The opening plenary, "A World Priced for Risk", will examine energy shocks, supply-chain disruption and the weaponisation of trade on economic management.

The conclave matters because it sets the intellectual frame for India's economic choices at a time of global fragmentation. Watch for signals on growth, inflation and trade strategy.
