Naidu backs Araku Coffee as global brand on Coffee Day

Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu said his government is actively investing to turn Araku into a premier global coffee destination.
Marking International Coffee Day on October 1, Naidu wrote on X that for millions around the world, the day begins with coffee. "For me, it starts with Araku — a taste of Andhra Pradesh's rich heritage," he said.
Naidu said building the Araku Coffee brand will empower local growers and give Andhra Pradesh its rightful place on the world coffee map. Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan also greeted people, saying every cup carries "the fragrance of the Eastern Ghats, the richness of its soil and the hard work of our tribal farmers."
Araku Coffee grows in the Araku Valley of Visakhapatnam district, a high-altitude tribal belt in the Eastern Ghats. It is largely grown by Adivasi farming communities and has been sold at premium outlets in Paris.
The push matters because it turns a tribal livelihood into an agri-export brand. The challenge now is scaling exports while keeping growers at the centre.
