Three men have been arrested on terrorism charges near RAF Fairford in England. Here is what we know about the case.

Police stopped vans near the airbase earlier this week. Searches found no explosives. Petrol and other materials were recovered.

RAF Fairford hosts US Air Force bombers on rotation. It is one of America's key bases in Britain.

Reports say one suspect called police himself before a farmer confronted him. Officers have not confirmed the details.

The three suspects remain in custody. Counter-terrorism police are leading the investigation.

What happens next? Police will question the suspects and examine the seized materials. They have asked the public not to speculate while the probe continues.

The base is in Gloucestershire in southwest England. It has hosted American bombers since the Cold War. The site is used for training and deployments. Security there is always tight. British and US officials work closely on base safety.
