8 in 10 Americans disapprove of Trump on inflation: polls

As many as eight in ten Americans now disapprove of President Donald Trump’s handling of inflation, a level of consensus rarely seen in modern US politics.
A new AP-NORC poll on Thursday showed 82 per cent disapproved and only 17 per cent approved of his handling of cost-of-living issues.
It is not an outlier. Reuters-Ipsos and Marquette Law School polls put approval at 17 and 19 per cent. Three polls show at least 80 per cent disapprove.
Even within his own base, the numbers are weak. At least half of Republicans disapprove across the polls, and 29 per cent of self-described MAGA Republicans disapprove, according to Fox News.
About 65 per cent of adults blame Trump’s policies rather than outside factors for high prices. Only 26 per cent approve of his handling of the economy, a new low.
CNN analysis called the figures historically rare, exceeding disapproval seen for wars, botched crises and even Watergate.
