India to face Pakistan for Asian Games cricket gold on October 3

India will face arch-rivals Pakistan in the men’s cricket final at the Asian Games 2026 on October 3, setting up a blockbuster gold medal clash in Nisshin, Japan.
India booked their place in the final with a commanding semifinal win over Sri Lanka on October 1. Ishan Kishan anchored the innings with a crucial 80, before India’s bowlers demolished Sri Lanka for just 45 in 9.5 overs.
Jasprit Bumrah struck twice, Axar Patel took 2 for 8 and Abhishek Sharma chipped in with 2 for 2 in a devastating display of bowling that sealed India’s berth in the much-anticipated final.
The gold medal match is scheduled to begin at 1:30 PM local time (10 AM IST) on October 3 at the Korogi Sports Park in Nisshin, the same venue as the semifinal.
The fixture adds another chapter to one of cricket’s fiercest rivalries. India are the defending champions, having won gold at the 2023 Hangzhou Asian Games, and will be keen to retain their crown against Pakistan.
