Ayushmann Khurrana heaped praise on Sooraj Barjatya at FICCI Frames in Mumbai on Tuesday, saying the veteran director’s greatest strength is his “ability to connect families.” The actor was speaking about their upcoming film Yeh Prem Mol Liya, his first collaboration with the maker of Hum Aapke Hain Koun and Vivah.

“He is a very legendary director. He has a very big legacy,” Ayushmann told IANS. He confirmed the film releases on November 27, 2026, with its trailer set to be unveiled on Diwali alongside Ramayan. The romantic family drama pairs him with Sharvari for the first time and is produced by Rajshri Productions with Mahaveer Jain Films. Music composer Himesh Reshammiya has reunited with Barjatya after their Prem Ratan Dhan Payo collaboration, reportedly composing seven songs.

Ayushmann also talked up Udta Teer, releasing October 9 — “India’s first patriotic comedy,” where he plays a Pakistani spy who loses his memory in India. Directed by Aakash Kaushik and produced by Dharma Productions and Sikhya Entertainment, it co-stars Sara Ali Khan. Two wildly different films, six weeks apart — a busy end to the year for the actor.
