Cerebras Systems plans to supply AI chips and hardware with capacity to consume roughly 100 megawatts to startup Gimlet Labs, the companies said on Monday.

Gimlet will use the hardware to run its cloud computing business, targeting companies and startups that are building their entire products around AI, CEO Zain Asgar told Reuters.

The deal reflects rising demand for fast AI inference — the process in which a chatbot such as Anthropic’s Claude generates a response to a user prompt. Performing inference quickly can help in areas like cybersecurity, voice applications and financial analysis, Asgar said.

Cerebras will supply its CS-4 systems, which it unveiled over the summer, over one to two years, CEO Andrew Feldman said. Gimlet plans to make the CS-4 hardware available in its cloud in 2027 and will maintain and operate the systems once delivered.

The companies declined to disclose financial terms. Feldman said the deal validates how easily the systems deploy alongside chips from other makers. Earlier this year, Cerebras signed a separate chip supply deal with OpenAI.
