The October 2026 Visa Bulletin, published on September 29, is the first bulletin of fiscal year 2027 — and it brings mixed news for Indian green card applicants.

The good news: EB-2 India, unavailable for three months, reopens with a Final Action date of November 1, 2013. EB-5 Unreserved India also returns at December 1, 2023, and EB-1 India advances to February 1, 2023. USCIS says both family and employment applicants must use the Dates for Filing chart in October — for EB-2 India, that is January 15, 2015.

The catch: attorneys call the bulletin disappointing because no spillover visa numbers have been factored in yet; the EB-2 India date remains stuck in 2013 and the department is still calculating unused numbers, which could be added in later bulletins.

What it means for you: if your priority date is before the listed cutoff, your case can move forward after the three-month freeze. Check both the Final Action and Dates for Filing charts against your priority date.

The November bulletin should give a clearer picture of spillovers.
