Robinhood Launches AI Agents That Trade Stocks for You

Robinhood has launched “Robinhood Agents” — AI trading agents built into its app that can research markets, build strategies and execute trades on their own.
Unveiled at the HOOD Summit in Houston on Monday, the feature lets users create an agent in a few taps, pick an AI model — including OpenAI’s GPT-Luna, free through 2026 — and set the limits the agent must follow.
Unlike chatbots that only answer questions, the agents take action: buying and selling within user-defined parameters. Trade approval is on by default but can be switched off for full automation.
The launch builds on a May pilot that drew over 150,000 users, whose agents now interact with Robinhood’s systems nearly 30 million times a day.
Robinhood also announced 24/7 US stock trading, perpetual crypto futures and earnings contracts, starting in October. Shares closed at $116.22 on Tuesday.
CEO Vlad Tenev has said AI agents will soon match — and exceed — what human traders can do, in a shift he calls the democratisation of finance for machines.
