More than 100 settlers blocked the al-Tubasi family from returning to their home in the village of Jalud, south of Nablus, on the night of September 29, despite an Israeli High Court ruling allowing them back.

The family returned earlier in September after being displaced for about two months. Settlers blocked roads, threw stones and set two homes on fire, according to multiple reports. Three police officers were lightly injured and arrests were made.

The Israel Defense Forces said "more than 100 Israeli rioters" were involved and described the mission as "not completed," calling the family victims of a "nationalist crime."

Mahmoud al-Tubasi, 60, his wife Aida, 51, and their son Wael, 33, were among those forced back out of their home as the violence spread.

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu condemned the rioters, a rare public rebuke amid rising settler violence in the West Bank.

Rights groups say settler attacks have surged in 2026, with displaced families facing repeated obstructions even when courts rule in their favour.

Israeli police said investigations into the night's violence are continuing.
