Nani’s The Paradise has crossed Rs 150 crore at the worldwide box office in just six days, despite a sharp weekday slowdown. The film’s India net collection stands at Rs 101.5 crore after Tuesday’s business.

The Srikanth Odela directorial opened with a bang, earning Rs 34.65 crore on day one – the biggest opening of Nani’s career. Including paid premieres, the film had collected Rs 46.25 crore by the end of its first day. The weekend stayed strong, with collections of Rs 14.9 crore, Rs 15.25 crore and Rs 15.7 crore.

Monday brought a reality check. Collections fell nearly 68 per cent to Rs 5 crore, and Tuesday added Rs 4.4 crore. Trade experts blame mixed word of mouth for the weekday drop.

Set in 1980s Secunderabad, the film follows a community’s fight for recognition, with Nani playing Jadal. Made on a reported budget of Rs 200 crore, it needs a strong second weekend to stay in the race.
