Bollywood stars are joining India’s fast-growing microdrama wave. Kusha Kapila and Sheeba Chadha have come on board ‘Likhe Jo Khat Tujhe’, a 14-episode Instagram microdrama, according to reports.

Microdramas are short vertical-format shows made for phones, with episodes lasting just a few minutes. The format has exploded in India over the past year, drawing both viewers and advertisers.

Nikki Tamboli and Vishal Aditya Singh have also joined the vertical wave, reports said. More actors are expected to sign up as production houses scale up microdrama slates.

The trend follows the global success of vertical storytelling apps. In India, Instagram and YouTube Shorts have become the main home for such shows.

Industry watchers say microdramas could become a major revenue stream for creators. With star names attached, the format is moving from experimental content to mainstream entertainment. The show will release its episodes one by one on Instagram, reports said. More Bollywood faces are likely to join vertical shows as the format grows, industry watchers said.
