Netflix Southverse explained: home for South Indian stories
Netflix has given South Indian cinema its own front door. “Into the Southverse”, launched on September 3, 2026, is a dedicated hub on the Netflix homepage for members in India.
The hub organises Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam and Kannada films and series by language, genre, star and mood. It mixes theatrical hits like Peddi, Blast, Amaran, Maharaja and Lucky Bhaskar with Netflix originals.
The originals include Super Subbu, Netflix’s first Telugu original series, and Made in Korea — the first title from southern India to top Netflix’s Global Top 10 Non-English Films chart.
Netflix has promised about one new South Indian title every week through the rest of 2026. The bet reflects strong demand: in 2025, regional titles featured on the global non-English Top 10 in 39 of 52 weeks.
Upcoming titles for the hub include the romantic-comedy series #Love and the drama series Legacy. Netflix says the section is available directly on the homepage and can also be found through search in the app.
