How India won two archery golds in a day

India won two archery golds in a single day at the Asian Games 2026. Here is how the archers did it.
The women’s compound team struck first, beating China 238-234 in the final. Their score of 238 matched the world record, a stunning display of accuracy under pressure that retained the title India won last time.
Then Sahil Jadhav and Chikitha Taniparthi took the mixed team gold, beating South Korea in a shoot-off after the scores finished level. Winning a shoot-off against Korea, archery’s dominant nation, made the triumph sweeter.
The double gold took India to eight golds at the Games. Reports said the mixed-team win may also have secured a quota place for the Los Angeles 2028 Olympics. Compound archery is not on the Olympic programme, but quota places feed the wider archery pathway. India’s archers have turned the sport into one of the country’s most reliable medal sources.
