India’s medal tally at the Asian Games 2026 climbed to 51 on Tuesday after shooter Neeru and long-distance runner Gulveer Singh won gold medals in Aichi-Nagoya.

Neeru topped the women’s trap shooting final to add India’s latest shooting gold, while Gulveer Singh completed a distance-running hat-trick with victory in the men’s 5,000m. Boxer Narender added a bronze after losing his heavyweight semifinal to Kazakhstan’s Aibek Oralbay.

The day’s haul kept India firmly among the top medal-winning nations as athletics and shooting continued to deliver. Earlier in the Games, Yash Vir Singh and Rohit Yadav had won silver and bronze in the men’s javelin throw.

With the Games running until October 3, India will look to add more medals in boxing finals, badminton and the remaining athletics events. Officials said the contingent remains on course for one of its best-ever Asian Games performances.

The results capped a strong day for the contingent, with medals also expected in the coming days from badminton, wrestling and the remaining track events.
