Indian startups raise $188.5 mn in a week

Indian startups raised $188.49 million across 17 deals in the week ended September 26, marking a sharp 205% rebound from the previous week's $61.8 million, according to Finance Outlook India's weekly funding report. Growth-stage companies accounted for $162 million of the total across just two deals.
Electric mobility startup Ultraviolette led the charts with an $85 million round led by Yali Capital and TDK Ventures, with participation from Walden International chairman Lip-Bu Tan, who has also joined the company as an adviser. Enterprise AI startup Ema raised $77 million in a Series B led by Creaegis.
Bengaluru topped the city charts with eight deals, while artificial intelligence was the most active sector with four deals. The week also saw two key appointments, one fund launch and one merger and acquisition, signalling a renewed pickup in funding momentum after a subdued fortnight. Early-stage startups raised $26.49 million across 12 deals, while three undisclosed rounds made up the remainder, underscoring how concentrated the week's capital deployment was.
