Special Campaign 6.0 Begins October 2 Across Ministries

The Government of India will undertake Special Campaign 6.0 from October 2 to 31, with a focus on Swachhata (cleanliness) and reducing pendency across ministries and departments.
The annual campaign, coordinated by the Department of Administrative Reforms and Public Grievances, will target time-bound disposal of pending references, including those from MPs, state governments, the PMO and parliamentary assurances pending over three months. Scientific disposal of e-waste and better office-space management are also priorities.
The preparatory phase ran from September 15 to 30, during which departments identified files for review and weeding, scrap for disposal and cleanliness sites. An evaluation phase from November 16 to 30 will assess outcomes.
Departments including consumer affairs and DPIIT have already set targets; the pension department alone aims to dispose of 6,500 public grievances and 800 appeals. Progress will be tracked on the dedicated SCDPM portal.
Previous editions of the campaign have claimed large-scale disposal of pending files and scrap, along with freed-up office space worth crores in scrap sales. The government says the month-long drives have become a fixture of administrative reform, with ministries competing on cleanliness and efficiency metrics.
