Genflow Biosciences has completed SLAB, its canine healthspan and sarcopenia trial in aged beagle dogs, testing the GF-1004 gene construct based on the SIRT6 longevity protein.

The company said in its half-year report on Tuesday that the randomised trial confirmed the safety and tolerability of the naked-DNA treatment and generated functional healthspan data across its endpoints.

Full results will be presented at the Animal Longevity Summit in Toronto on October 2, alongside a manuscript being prepared for peer-reviewed publication, the company said. It is also in confidential talks with animal-health firms.

The trial is a stepping stone: Genflow’s human programmes target age-related diseases including MASH and sarcopenia, and the dog data are meant to validate the platform in a real-world ageing population.

The update came via company announcement. As with all company-reported trial results, independent scientists will look to the peer-reviewed paper for verification. The Toronto presentation is expected to draw longevity researchers and potential animal-health partners.
