At least 10 people were killed in a wave of Russian drone attacks across Ukraine on Monday. A Kyiv science academy building was among the targets hit.

Ukrainian officials said Russia used jet-powered drones in the overnight assault. Air defences shot down many of them, but some got through.

Emergency teams worked through the morning to clear rubble and help the injured. Several buildings in the capital were damaged in the strikes.

The attacks come amid a sharp rise in cross-border drone incidents. Neighbouring countries have also reported airspace violations in recent days.

Ukraine’s military said it will keep strengthening air defences around cities. Officials urged residents to follow air-raid warnings. The war has now entered another difficult phase for civilians across the country. Local officials said rescue teams will continue searching damaged sites through the day. International leaders condemned the strikes and called for an immediate halt to attacks on civilians.
