Indian Railways will run 102 festival special train trips via the Solapur division to handle the Dussehra and Diwali rush, with reservations opening on September 27 across computerised centres, the IRCTC website and the RailOne app. The CSMT Mumbai–Chennai Beach weekly special will run six trips each way from October 14 to November 19, while the Mumbai–Latur bi-weekly special will operate 13 trips each way from October 13 to November 24.

The largest share — 64 trips — will run daily except Friday between Kolhapur and Kalaburagi from October 10 to November 15. The specials connect Mumbai, Chennai, Latur, Kolhapur and Kalaburagi.

Officials said the extra services will ease pressure on regular trains during the festive season when passenger demand surges. Passengers can book through the IRCTC website and app, RailOne, and computerised reservation centres, with special charges applicable on these trains. Railway officials have urged travellers to book early, as festive-season trains usually fill up fast.
