Yash Vir Singh threw 85.72 metres for second place, while Rohit Yadav’s best of 84.35 metres earned him third. Sri Lanka’s Rumesh Tharanga Pathirage won gold with 88.55 metres.

The result continued India’s fine tradition in the javelin, following Neeraj Chopra’s global success. Both Indians threw season-best marks in the final.
