Samsung commits $1 billion to US AI firm Helix

Samsung group has decided to invest a combined $1 billion in Helix Digital Infrastructure, a US artificial intelligence infrastructure company. The announcement came on 29 September.
Samsung Electronics will provide $500 million through its capital fund. Samsung C&T, Samsung SDS, Samsung SDI, Samsung Life Insurance and Samsung Fire & Marine Insurance will supply the rest.
Helix was set up in June 2026 by US investment firm KKR and is led by former AWS chief executive Adam Selipsky. Reuters reported that the $1 billion adds to more than $10 billion already committed to the Helix strategy.
Samsung joins Nvidia, US power company Vistra and the Kuwait Investment Authority as a founding investor. Total secured capital now exceeds $11 billion, according to the Seoul Economic Daily.
Helix builds hyperscale data centres, power generation and transmission, and fibre networks for AI. The company plans to combine Nvidia’s full-stack technology with Samsung’s energy storage capabilities.
