Miller, Bavuma tons seal ODI series for South Africa
South Africa beat Australia by 32 runs in the second ODI at the Wanderers on 27 September, sealing the three-match series 2-0 with a game to spare.
David Miller smashed a career-best 142 off 93 balls, with 12 fours and nine sixes. Captain Temba Bavuma made 103 off 116 balls, and the pair added 156 for the fourth wicket as South Africa posted 365 for 9.
Australia were bowled out for 333 in 49.5 overs. Mitch Marsh and Travis Head both made 84, while Jack Edwards took 5-67 for the visitors.
Reuters reported that it is South Africa’s sixth successive bilateral ODI series win over Australia. The hosts have dominated the rivalry in recent years.
The final ODI will be played at Potchefstroom. Australia will look to avoid a series whitewash. The result continues South Africa’s strong run in the format against their rivals, and the hosts will aim to complete a clean sweep.
