Bose announced on September 28 its first wired earbuds since 2015: the Bose Noise Cancelling Wired Earbuds, priced at $99. They are available to preorder and will ship in mid-October.

Two microphones per earbud plus the company’s QuietControl system deliver active noise cancelling with Quiet Mode, Aware Mode and off, cycled through the inline remote. A third microphone on the remote handles calls. A 4.2-foot USB-C cable replaces the headphone jack, drawing power from the phone or laptop for lossless audio with minimal latency. The earbuds carry IPX4 water resistance against sweat and rain.

The launch rides a wired-audio revival. Wired headphone sales rose for the first time in five years, up 10 percent in late 2025 and 20 percent in early 2026, led by Gen Z and celebrities.

Bose consumer-audio president Raza Haider says the product went from idea to finished hardware in about eight to nine months, unusually fast for the audio industry. At $99, it undercuts most of Bose’s wireless lineup.
