Rod Stewart, 81, has announced he will retire from large-scale touring after one final run of shows in 2027, closing a stage career spanning more than six decades.

The rock legend confirmed the “final tour ever” on September 28, telling fans “it’s time to say farewell” after a lifetime on the road. Dates were announced for the farewell run, including UK arena shows, with more stops expected.

Stewart rose from London’s club scene in the 1960s to become one of rock’s best-selling solo artists, with hits from “Maggie May” to “Da Ya Think I’m Sexy?” and a later second act as a crooner of American standards. He has sold more than 250 million records worldwide, according to industry estimates.

The announcement follows a wave of farewell tours from veteran stars. Stewart has not ruled out one-off performances, but the days of months-long global treks are ending.

Stewart’s farewell follows similar goodbyes from other veteran rockers in recent years. Fans are urged to book early, as the final shows are expected to sell out quickly.
