USA TODAY Sports' NCAA Re-Rank 1-138, by Paul Myerberg, put Georgia at No. 1, bumping Texas to No. 2 and Notre Dame to No. 3. The shake-up followed Georgia's 41-13 win over Oklahoma — its fourth consecutive win by at least 28 points.

Georgia's defense forced four Oklahoma turnovers, including two fumbles and an interception from OU quarterback John Mateer. Myerberg noted Texas has played the tougher schedule, facing Ohio State and travelling to Tennessee, but called Georgia the best team in the country on both sides of the ball.

This is Myerberg's 1-138 re-rank, not the AP or Coaches Poll — the Coaches Poll still had Texas No. 1 and Georgia No. 2 after Week 4. Defending national champion Indiana dropped to No. 10 in the re-rank after a narrow 29-23 win over Northwestern.

The debate over the nation's true No. 1 will now follow Georgia into its next game, with Texas's tougher schedule keeping the official polls split for now.
