Lovlina Borgohain reached the women's 75kg boxing semifinals at the Asian Games 2026 in Aichi-Nagoya on Monday, beating South Korea's Seong Suyeon by a unanimous 5-0 decision. The win guarantees her at least a bronze, since both losing semifinalists earn medals.

The Tokyo Olympic bronze medallist won all three rounds, with every judge scoring the bout 30-27 in her favour. She used her reach, timing and straight punches to control the contest against the South Korean boxer.

Lovlina will face Kazakhstan's Natalya Bogdanova, the reigning 70kg world champion, in the semifinal on September 30. Bogdanova won her quarterfinal 4-1 over Uzbekistan's Aziza Zokirova.

The 28-year-old won silver at the Hangzhou Asian Games and is now assured of a second straight continental podium. She joins fellow Indian semifinalists Parveen Hooda, Ankush Panghal and Narender Berwal in the boxing competition.

The women's 75kg final is scheduled for October 2, with the Games' boxing bouts available to Indian viewers on Sony Sports Network and Sony Liv.
