Madonna was the night's biggest winner at the 2026 MTV Video Music Awards, taking home seven trophies at the ceremony held Sunday at the Peacock Theater in Los Angeles. Taylor Swift won Video of the Year for "The Fate of Ophelia."

Madonna, 40 years after her iconic first VMAs performance, won Artist of the Year and Best Album for "Confessions II," plus Best Collaboration with Sabrina Carpenter for "Bring Your Love." She also swept the technical categories for "Confessions II – The Film," USA Today reported.

Swift won Video of the Year for "The Fate of Ophelia" and Best Direction for "Opalite." She also received the inaugural Artist Director Honors and premiered her new "Patient Zero" music video during the show.

Elsewhere, BTS took Song of the Year and Best K-Pop for "SWIM," plus Best Group. Sienna Spiro was named Best New Artist, and BLACKPINK's LISA won Best Pop for "Dream."

Snoop Dogg hosted the ceremony in his hometown of Los Angeles, which aired on CBS and MTV. Madonna opened the show with her first VMAs performance in 23 years.
