The Joint Parliamentary Committee examining the Foreign Contribution (Regulation) Amendment Bill, 2026 will hold its second meeting at Parliament Annexe in New Delhi on Tuesday, September 29, according to a Lok Sabha Secretariat notice.

The meeting will run from 11 AM to 2 PM in Committee Room 3, followed by a working lunch. Officials from the Ministries of Home Affairs and Law and Justice will give a clause-wise briefing on the Bill’s provisions, ANI reported.

From 2 PM, the panel will hear domain experts and stakeholders, including State Bank of India Chairman Challa Sreenivasulu Setty and Additional Solicitor General Chetan Sharma. The committee held its first meeting on September 18, when Union Home Secretary Govind Mohan explained the rationale behind the amendments. BJP MP Sanjay Jaiswal, who chairs the panel, has said it aims to submit its report before the Winter Session.

The Bill proposes tighter oversight of foreign funding for NGOs and institutions, a move that has drawn both support and criticism.
