Gold slips in September after August rally in India

Gold prices in India slipped in September after a strong August rally. The 24K rate hovered around Rs 1.63 lakh per 10 grams, with Mumbai and Delhi quoting about Rs 1,63,090 to Rs 1,63,240, according to Good Returns data cited by Jagran Josh.
The dip follows global cues. A US Federal Reserve rate hike pushed up bond yields, making gold less attractive since the metal pays no interest. A stronger dollar also raised import costs for India.
Gold had earlier surged on safe-haven demand linked to geopolitical tensions. The recent fall shows how quickly the metal can swing when US policy signals change.
Domestic support remains. Festive demand, wedding-season buying and central bank purchases are expected to steady the market. Analysts say US rate and dollar moves will decide the next direction.
Experts see range-bound trade with an upward lean. If global uncertainty persists, MCX gold could test fresh highs in the months ahead.
