India's Harita Bhadra won bronze in the women's 200m final at the Asian Games on Sunday. She clocked 23.20 seconds at Aichi-Nagoya 2026, pipping Japan's runner at the line. It was her debut at the continental showpiece.

Bhadra edged Japan's Ido Abigeirufuka by one-hundredth of a second in a photo finish. The Japanese sprinter timed 23.21 seconds. Singapore's Veronica Shanti Pereira won gold in 22.78 seconds, while China's Chen Yujie took silver in 22.93.

The 23-year-old from Maharashtra became only the sixth Indian woman to win a 200m Asian Games medal. She had lowered her personal best to 23.14 seconds at the national championships in June. Unnathi Aiyappa Bolland, the other Indian finalist, finished sixth.
