India logs record $94.53 billion FDI in FY26

India recorded its highest-ever annual foreign direct investment inflow in FY 2025-26. The figure stood at $94.53 billion, Commerce and Industry Minister Piyush Goyal said on Friday. The numbers were shared as Make in India completed 12 years.

Cumulative FDI from FY 2014-15 to FY 2025-26 reached $843 billion, Goyal said. He posted the figures on social media on September 25, marking the campaign's 12th anniversary. Make in India was launched on September 25, 2014.

Goyal also highlighted Production Linked Incentive schemes. As of March 31, the schemes had drawn Rs 2.40 lakh crore in actual investment. They generated Rs 23.8 lakh crore in production and sales, Rs 15.2 lakh crore in exports and over 14.6 lakh jobs.

Electronics, pharmaceuticals, automobiles and IT hardware were among the sectors that benefited. Foreign investment brings capital, technology and supply-chain links, analysts note. What matters next is whether the record pace continues into FY27 and lifts manufacturing's share of the economy.
