Four labourers have died and 13 have been rescued after a three-storey under-construction building collapsed in Dhulkot village near Ambala, Haryana, on Sunday afternoon. Rescue teams from the NDRF, SDRF, police and fire services are still searching the debris for more workers, officials said.

The collapse happened around 3 pm while workers were laying the lintel on the third floor. Officials initially feared that 15 to 20 workers could be trapped under the rubble, though the exact number remains unconfirmed. Five earth-moving machines are clearing the debris.

The four deceased have been identified as Rajendra of Ambala, Kalia of Barabanki, Shastri of Bahraich, and Roop Singh of Punjab, according to officials. Nine of the rescued workers were taken to the district hospital for treatment. Police said a probe into the cause will begin once rescue work ends.

The tragedy has raised fresh questions about safety at construction sites in the region as rescue teams race against time.
