Florida Runs Over No. 4 Ole Miss 52-28 in the Swamp
No. 21 Florida ran all over fourth-ranked Ole Miss on Saturday. The Gators won 52-28 in Gainesville to reach 4-0 for the first time since 2019.
Tailbacks Jadan Baugh and Duke Clark led the way. Baugh carried 29 times for 142 yards and three touchdowns. Clark added 126 yards and a score on 12 carries. Florida finished with 302 rushing yards and six rushing touchdowns.
Ole Miss fought back twice in the third quarter. The Rebels cut the lead to three points both times. Florida answered every time. The Gators scored touchdowns on five straight second-half drives.
Heisman candidate Trinidad Chambliss threw for 298 yards and two scores for Ole Miss. He also ran for two touchdowns. But the Rebels, playing without star back Kewan Lacy, could not stop Florida’s ground game.
It was Florida’s highest-ranked win since 2015. Coach Jon Sumrall became the first SEC coach to score 200-plus points in his first four games. Ole Miss fell to 3-1 and heads into a bye week.
