No. 20 Oregon defeated No. 12 USC 41-27 on Saturday night after losing star quarterback Dante Moore to a frightening injury. Moore left in the second quarter when USC linebacker Desman Stephens hit him late as he slid. Stephens was ejected for targeting. Moore was taken to a hospital by ambulance and had feeling in all his extremities, according to the broadcast. Backup Dylan Raiola, a Nebraska transfer, completed 19 of 25 passes for 289 yards and two touchdowns. He hit Dakorien Moore for a 29-yard go-ahead score with 8:35 left. Dierre Hill Jr. rushed for two second-half touchdowns. Jordon Davison’s 2-yard run with 2:03 left sealed it. USC (4-1, 1-1) tied the game at 27 early in the fourth on Jayden Maiava’s 11-yard touchdown pass to Tanook Hines. Maiava threw for 326 yards and two scores. Oregon coach Dan Lanning called Stephens’ hit a disgusting play. The Ducks (3-1, 1-0 Big Ten) have now beaten USC five straight times.
