BJP chief: Rahul, Kejriwal, CJP trying to create anarchy

BJP president Nitin Nabin on Saturday accused the Congress-led Opposition, Arvind Kejriwal and the Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) of attempting to create anarchy in the country with foreign help. Speaking to reporters, he warned the Opposition leaders and the CJP that the government would deal sternly with their intentions and that BJP workers would foil their designs on the ground.

Attempt to destabilise, says BJP chief

Nabin said an attempt was being made to create a dangerous atmosphere and to destabilise the fact that most of the country’s 140 crore people were contributing towards its development in peace. He said this was being done by two anarchic groups — the leader of the INDI alliance, Rahul Gandhi, and the group being led by Kejriwal’s colleagues, the CJP.

He said the people were watching both closely and that their designs would not succeed. According to Nabin, these were leaders rejected by the people, who had decided to destabilise the nation instead of learning lessons from their defeats.

Nabin alleged the attempt was being made for political objectives and at the direction of foreign powers, at a time when the nation was moving forward despite a global crisis. He said challenging the country’s constitutional framework and democracy, and using insulting language against individuals holding the nation’s highest offices, would never be accepted by the people.

Strict action promised

Nabin said people would never allow the intentions of such leaders, who relied on foreign forces for their politics. He said challenging democracy in the name of the Constitution with the support of lies was an insult to the people’s mandate, especially when Prime Minister Narendra Modi was at the helm with the people’s trust.

He warned that the BJP and the patriotic people of the country would give a befitting response. The Government of India would deal with the situation strictly, and BJP workers would stay among the people and thwart their designs, he said.

The BJP, in a post, recalled that the CJP protest in July had resulted in injuries to children and police personnel, and that public property was damaged. The party said the precautionary restrictions imposed in Delhi were to ensure the safety of the general public.

Union Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan called the protest an Opposition conspiracy to trigger anarchy. Senior BJP leader Ravi Shankar Prasad said Saturday’s events had shown Indian democracy defeating the quest for anarchy, and that the country would be governed through Parliament, not the streets.

Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, in Balrampur, praised Modi’s leadership while accusing the Congress and its allies of pushing the country towards anarchy. He said the double-engine government would not accept anarchy and that no one would be allowed to play with India’s honour.
