Apple’s foldable iPhone Duo arrives running iOS 27.1

Apple’s first foldable phone, the iPhone Duo, has arrived running iOS 27.1 out of the box. The device is powered by the A20 Pro chip that also debuted in the iPhone 18 Pro series.
Apple confirmed that iOS 27.1 will ship on the Duo at launch, with wider availability expected later. The company is also testing iOS 27.2, which brings profiles for the Apple TV app to iPhone and iPad, a Dual Capture feature for Group FaceTime calls, and an expansion of Siri AI to French, Japanese, Korean, Portuguese and Spanish.
The iOS 27.2 beta also includes a redesigned Health app with Apple Intelligence features. The Duo marks Apple’s entry into the foldable segment, years after rivals launched their first folding phones.
Pricing and availability details for India are awaited, and analysts will watch early sales to gauge demand for the premium device.
The foldable phone market has so far been led by Samsung and Chinese brands. Apple’s entry is expected to expand the segment significantly, given the loyalty of its large iPhone user base.
