Soha Ali Khan recalls childhood love for animals, first mouse friend

Soha Ali Khan has opened up about her lifelong love for animals in an interview with Hindustan Times on World Animal Day.
The actor recalled growing up around farm animals in Bhopal and Pataudi, and said her first connection with an animal was with a little mouse that lived in her bedroom. She said city children would be scared, but she was comfortable sharing her room with the mouse.
Soha added that spending time in jungles with her family taught her to respect animals and their space. Her father, the late Tiger Pataudi, encouraged the children to grow up with pets.
She also spoke about how having dogs taught the family about grief, recalling the passing of husband Kunal Kemmu’s dog Masti.
In a separate conversation with ANI, Soha backed Deepika Padukone’s demand for an eight-hour workday, saying she empathises as a mother and that bedtime with her daughter is precious.
Soha, daughter of Mansoor Ali Khan Pataudi and Sharmila Tagore, has often spoken about balancing work and motherhood. She was last seen hosting television shows and remains active on social media, where she shares glimpses of her family life.
