TCS Q2 Profit Rises 15% to Rs 13,884 Crore on AI Revenue Jump

Tata Consultancy Services beat second-quarter estimates with net profit rising 14.9 per cent to Rs 13,884 crore, the company said. Revenue reached Rs 73,188 crore.
The IT major’s annualised AI revenue run-rate rose nearly 20 per cent quarter-on-quarter to 3.1 billion dollars, up from 2.6 billion dollars in the previous quarter. Shares rose 3.5 per cent to Rs 2,149.10 in early trade on Friday.
The company also declared a second interim dividend of Rs 12 per share. Most regions except India saw sequential growth, with growth broad-based across verticals, according to broker notes.
The results come as the US government suspended TCS and other firms from its PERM labour certification programme, which affects green card processing for employees.
Management said AI is a key driver of growth, though brokerages flagged muted near-term revenue growth and pressure on margins from continued reinvestment. Most regions except India saw sequential growth, and headcount rose for a third straight quarter, suggesting demand for talent remains steady.
