Maresca faces media in first presser since City verdict

Chelsea manager Enzo Maresca faced the media on Friday morning in his first press conference since Manchester City's seismic guilty verdict.
The Italian spoke at 10.30 am, two days after the Premier League found City guilty of the most serious charges in the 115-charges case. The verdict, announced on October 7, stripped City of titles won between 2012 and 2018 and sent the club down to the Championship.
Maresca was always going to face questions about the fallout. Chelsea travel to the Etihad on Sunday to face a City side now under a new manager following Pep Guardiola's departure, and the build-up has been dominated by the verdict.
The Chelsea boss is expected to have been asked about the integrity of past title races, the mood in his squad, and how his side will handle a wounded City at home.
City have said they will appeal, so the saga is far from over. But for now, every press conference in English football will carry the shadow of the biggest punishment in Premier League history.
