India Questions Pakistan on Masood Azhar at UN

India has questioned Pakistan’s double standards on terrorism at the United Nations. New Delhi raised the issue of Jaish-e-Mohammed chief Masood Azhar.
India asked why Pakistan shelters terrorists while preaching against terrorism. The question was put to Pakistan’s delegation at the UN.
Masood Azhar is a UN-designated global terrorist. India has long demanded action against him and his outfit.
The exchange comes amid strained ties between the two neighbours. Kashmir also featured in recent UN discussions.
India has repeatedly said talks and terror cannot go together. It wants Pakistan to act against terror groups on its soil.
Pakistan did not give a clear answer to India’s question, reports said.
India has raised the Azhar issue at the UN for years. The Jaish chief was listed as a global terrorist in 2019 after Chinese objections were dropped. India says Pakistan has taken no real action against him. New Delhi wants concrete steps, not statements.
