Railways to Offer Over 50,000 Appointments in FY26

The Railway Ministry has said Railway Recruitment Boards will offer appointments to more than 50,000 candidates in financial year 2025-26.
Since November 2024, the boards have held computer-based tests for over 1.86 crore candidates. These covered seven notifications with 55,197 vacancies across categories.
More than 9,000 appointments have already been issued in the first quarter of this financial year, the ministry said in its announcement.
Twelve notifications for 1,08,324 vacancies have been issued since 2024 under the annual calendar published by the boards. Another 50,000-plus appointments are planned for 2026-27.
The recruitment drive is among the largest by any government employer in the country. It spans technical, non-technical, paramedical and ministerial posts.
Results and joining schedules are released board-wise on official RRB websites. Candidates should track their regional board’s site for document verification dates.
The scale of the exercise is huge. With over 1.86 crore applicants tested in under a year, the boards run one of the world’s largest recruitment operations. The ministry credits the annual calendar for bringing predictability to the process.
