OpenAI has launched GPT-6 with Intelligent UI, turning ChatGPT into an interface that can generate interactive tools instead of simply returning text. The update was announced on October 7.

Intelligent UI lets ChatGPT combine text with graphics, charts, buttons, forms and interactive elements based on the question. Examples include a road-trip plan shown on a map, a retirement savings calculator, a dinner bill splitter and a playable game. When plain text is the most useful answer, ChatGPT still uses plain text.

The rollout began October 7 for Plus, Pro, Business and Enterprise subscribers, and expands to Free and Go users on October 8. Paid tiers get GPT-6 Sol, while free tiers get GPT-6 Luna. OpenAI says more than 1.2 billion people use ChatGPT each week.

GPT-6 can also begin answering while it is still thinking, instead of waiting for the full reasoning process. OpenAI’s internal testing says GPT-6 Instant starts replying 44 percent sooner than GPT-5.6 Instant on web-search questions.
